About WISepticPros
WISepticPros operates a Wisconsin-focused referral directory for septic pumping, emergency service, drainfield repair, and real-estate transfer inspections. We do not perform septic work, do not own pump trucks, and do not hold any POWTS contractor or inspector license. We connect Wisconsin homeowners and rural property owners with independent POWTS-licensed pumpers and installers through a pay-per-call affiliate network for 24/7 alarm response, scheduled maintenance, frozen-lid thaw, and Wis. Admin. Code SPS 383 compliance work.
How we make money
When a call results in a booked job, the provider's network pays WISepticPros a referral fee. You pay the septic contractor directly. The fee does not increase your quoted price.
How Wisconsin POWTS licensing works
Wisconsin regulates septic systems โ formally Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (POWTS) โ under Wis. Admin. Code SPS 383, administered by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). Anyone who installs, inspects, services, or pumps a POWTS in Wisconsin must hold the appropriate DSPS credential: POWTS Installer, POWTS Inspector, POWTS Maintainer, or Septage Servicing Operator (Master/Operator) for liquid-waste hauling. Tank pumping must be performed by a credentialed Septage Servicing Operator working for a DNR-licensed septage company that disposes of the load at a permitted treatment facility. Many WI counties also require a maintenance report filed with the county every 3 years (or per the county-specific SPS 383 schedule) and a POWTS inspection at point-of-sale before a home can transfer. Our network partners are verified for active DSPS POWTS credentials, DNR septage hauler licenses where applicable, general liability insurance, and workers' compensation. Always verify a contractor's license at dsps.wi.gov and ask for their certificate of insurance before signing anything.
Wisconsin one-party consent for call recording
Wisconsin is a one-party consent state for call recording under Wis. Stat. ยง 968.31. Only one party to the call must consent to recording. Our affiliate network may record calls for quality assurance and dispatch verification.
